About Blast!

NUS Dance BLAST! is a member of NUS CFA. She was formed in September 2001. Initiated by a group of students with a keen interest in Hip-Hop dance and guided by Resident Choreographer, Patrick Loo, the group aims to promote the Hip-Hop spirit to the wider community. Of utmost importance is the Hip-Hop spirit – positivity in life, freedom and passion.

    Dance Reflections - Hybrid moves























    I'm the publicity head of Blast as of this year.
    But this head of mine was about to explode when ticket sales were so bad.
    Gosh how were we ever going to sell so many tickets! AND worry about the show at the same time! To make matters worse, we were all geared up and involved in Dancetitude (organised by our sister group NTU MJ) so we had SO few rehearsals back then. The Peranakan theme didn't play to our advantage either..

    But yes, you guessed it! If you didn't manage to catch the show, I dare say it was your loss!

    Hope to upload to youtube as testimony that we did it! We pulled it off!
    Ticket sales picked up and the crowd was great =)

    Minutes before the show everyone backstage were all raring to go. As Pat sauntered in and gave his usual (yet forever inspiring) speech,
    we shared a universal prayer together. Amidst the solemn congregation of bowed heads, our hearts were ignited with our passion for dance and passion for the stage. As one entity, we hit the dancefloor and stormed the stage.

    We didn't just bring it; we nailed it.
    Kudos to the dancers I'dil, Joo Teng, Erwin, Weilong, Frederick, Elson, Chris, Lina, Esther, Nicole, Hazel, Tracy, Huixuan, Sham, Sharon, Dawn, Peggy, Chun, Rebecca, and Celine, for their past few months of undying effort and hard work.
