NUS Dance BLAST! is a member of NUS CFA. She was formed in September 2001.
Initiated by a group of students with a keen interest in Hip-Hop dance and guided by Resident Choreographer, Patrick Loo, the group aims to promote the Hip-Hop spirit to the wider community.
Of utmost importance is the Hip-Hop spirit – positivity in life, freedom and passion.
We are currently calling for participants (teams of 2) to join and you can expect 4 rounds all happening on the 15th Feb (Friday) at University Cultural Centre (UCC) Theatre in NUS, 8pm.
Briefly, Round 1 consists of the duos performing their prepared piece but with a given short music snip 2 weeks before. The challenge is that the duos will dance in groups simultaneously. Teams that manage to catch the judges' attention, get to advance to round 2. Here, the duos have earned their right and have the freedom to dance to songs and styles of their choice. Each team is given solo time on stage during this round.
Then it's half time! When the judges will deliberate on the results while our guest item entertains you ;)
Round 3 is the choreography round when the duos learn some simple choreography that would factor into their judging criteria before....
Round 4! When the 4 remaining teams battle it out to emerge the final winner!
