NUS Dance BLAST! is a member of NUS CFA. She was formed in September 2001. Initiated by a group of students with a keen interest in Hip-Hop dance and guided by Resident Choreographer, Patrick Loo, the group aims to promote the Hip-Hop spirit to the wider community. Of utmost importance is the Hip-Hop spirit – positivity in life, freedom and passion.

Here are a few events that we have organised for YOU and bet you wouldn't want to miss it! Dont worry! The information that follows will not be as complicated and hard to understand as the CORS system...

1. BUSKING

Date: 17 and 18 August 2006
Time: 12 to 2pm
Venue: Central Forum and LT27 (Science) foyer

Catch our busking item which showcases different styles of Hiphop.

The 2 items are choreographed by our very own Dance captains Taufik Shah (2004/5) and I'dil Saladin (2006/7).

The dance hopes to entertain its audience with its fresh form of dancing and music.

2. WELCOME TEA PARTY

Welcome Tea (Party)* is a session held specially for freshies and interested NUS students to know what Dance Blast! is all about!

Besides a great performance by our experienced members, we will introduce you to our club, the culture of hiphop and also a chance to get to know the commitee and our friendly members.

3. FREE HIP-HOP DANCE CLASS

Slot 1 : 1 to 2pm
Slot 2 : 2 to 3pm
Slot 3 : 3 to 4pm
Slot 4 : 4 to 5pm

Free class is for all of those who are interested in finding out how our typical class is like and what kind of styles do we dance.

Combining the creativity of young and aspiring student choreographers, Shut Up and Dance! brings to you a dazzling display of talent and passion, presented in the groove of various hip hop genres and themes.

Fancy some old and new school hip hop- milking, locking and popping as well as the J/K style of hip hop. Do not miss this exciting moment as we explore the different realms of hip hop culture.
