NUS Dance BLAST! is a member of NUS CFA. She was formed in September 2001. Initiated by a group of students with a keen interest in Hip-Hop dance and guided by Resident Choreographer, Patrick Loo, the group aims to promote the Hip-Hop spirit to the wider community. Of utmost importance is the Hip-Hop spirit – positivity in life, freedom and passion.

Reporting Venue: CFA Lobby
Attire: comfortable top + pants(knee length or longer) and comfortable shoes for dancing(i.e. sneakes, sports shoes).. strictly NO slippers, sandals, barefoot, shorts or skirts


*P.S. CFA stands for "Centre For the Arts"
*CFA Dance studio/lobby is just opposite Yusof Ishak House, near Raffles hall :)

On the day of auditions, registration at CFA Lobby (Level 2) starts at 12 pm. For those who can only arrive later, second round of registration begins at 2 pm.

Dance Blast! choreographer Patrick Loo will be one of the judges present. Don't worry if you feel inexperienced; no extensive dance background is required, just one left foot, one right foot, and a passion for dance! You should also be prepared to commit to weekly dance classes on Wednesday afternoons... (i.e. Junior Class: 4-530pm, Senior Class: 530-7pm)

i) Free HIP HOP Classes
This is for those who are not sure of what kinda dance we are doing. You can sign up for our free HIP HOP classes and experience the fun we are having from dancing!

*Each person is only entitled to 1 free class

Dates:
17th Aug (Fri) & 20th Aug (Mon) 2007
(2-5pm each day)

Timeslots:
Class 1 (40 pax maximum): 2 - 3pm,
Class 2 (40 pax maximum): 3 - 4pm,
Class 3 (40 pax maximum): 4 - 5pm

Reporting venue: CFA Lobby (opposite YIH, Please look out for direction signs)

It's that time of the year again, as we welcome the freshies and recruit new members into our club.

The event dates are as follows:

As part of the execution of these events, we need the assistance of nannies, who's job is to guide the freshies along as they learn the dances. Specifically for the audition day, nannies are appointed to small groups of "auditionees" to re-vise with them the steps that they will be learning on the day itself, before they are judged upon.

Your participation in these events is crucial to success; so for those who are interested, please hesistate no more and reply to nus_dance_blast@yahoo.com.sg, indicating the event which you would like to help out in.

Matric Fair is just round the corner.

Helpers are needed to mend the BLAST! booth at the MPSH during each session, so we're inviting y'all to volunteer yourselves to help promote NUS Dance BLAST! to the new batch of freshies. This event is going to be the very first time many of the freshies will encounter our happening club, and it all starts there.... so YES, we need YOU, YOU enthu peeps, to help make BLAST! stand out from other booths, and leave that deep BLAST in those "green" and fresh ones... :)

On behalf of the 6th committee.. I would like to THANK allll blastards for being there, helping out, dancing hard, and for all the words of encouragement that kept us going throughout the year! Except for Matt & Ziyen who'll be graduating (SOBS..grabs a tissue, sniffs*) the rest of the ex-comm members will still be around so... dont be too sad. HAA.
